Here is a window into the Guild's hisory.

​An update of the history of the Devon Guild of Weavers Spinners and Dyers was triggered by a visit to the May 2018 meeting of Eileen Seddon; Chairperson of the Guild from 1984-1988.

Eillen recalled many memories from her involvement with the Guild including being involved with the Exeter Cathedral Throwover shown. Eileen had completed a potted summary of the years 1951-1992.

There have been many great achievements of the Guild over the years; 2 that stand out are:

St Nicholas Priory tapestry
Exeter Cathedral throwover.

The information has been obtained from handwritten notes and newsletters (some of which are missing but we have many going back to the 1980s which are held by the secretary).
